A prominent political figure from Ibadan South East Local Government area in Oyo State, Hon. Adebolu Okiki, has urged Governor Seyi Makinde to support the governorship ambition of Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja.
In a press release, Hon. Okiki stated that, of all the aspirants seeking to succeed Governor Makinde, only Arapaja possesses the political experience and track record to win a governorship election in any party the governor selects to lead his followers.
“We all know that Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja is a veteran politician and diplomat with a strong grasp of politics. He is a grassroots mobiliser who honed his skills at Molete and has distinguished himself as an accomplished leader,” Hon. Okiki said.
Hon. Okiki, a former vice chairman of Ibadan South LCDA, called on the governor to recognise Arapaja’s unalloyed loyalty and formidable credentials, which outshine those of any other aspirant eyeing the 2027 general election.
“Arapaja has also served as former deputy governor of Oyo State and a one-term member of the House of Representatives. He also held the position of chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government for two terms and was appointed Nigeria’s ambassador to Jordan and Iran by President Goodluck Jonathan.”
“Additionally, he was elected PDP deputy national chairman (South) and currently National Secretary of PDP.”
“Supporting Arapaja is not just a wise choice but a strategic imperative for Governor Makinde and any Party the Governor might want to take his followers to.”
“His deep grassroots connections, proven loyalty, and national stature position him uniquely to consolidate the governor’s legacy and deliver a resounding victory in 2027. His leadership would ensure seamless continuity and mobilise voters across the state.”
