The Minister of Power, Mr Adebayo Adelabu says the Federal Government (FG) plans to focus on alternate source of generation to improve to power supply. Adelabu speaking in Abuja on Wednesday while interacting with Power Correspondents said that the plan was to de-emphasis the national grid and focus on distributed power. Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has urged the contractor handling rehabilitation and upgrading of 48.7KM Toto/Umaisha road to redouble its effort towards quick completion of the work. The House, also commended the contractor over good and quality work done so far. Eleven students of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) were, on Monday 6 November 2023, arraigned at the Federal High Court, Osogbo, Osun State for their alleged involvement in internet fraud. The defendants were arraigned before Justice Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel by the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). They were arraigned on different count charges, ranging from one to six charges against them, EFCC said in a statement. The police command in Katsina has confirmed five people were shot dead and two others were wounded during an attack by bandits in Sayaya village of Matazu LGA. The command confirmed this in a statement by its spokesman, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, on Tuesday. “On November 6, 2023, at about 0055 hours, armed bandits in their numbers, wielding dangerous weapons such as AK-47 rifles and shooting sporadically, attacked Sayaya village, Matazu local government, Katsina state. The police command in Cross River rescued a former staff member of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) shortly after her abduction at her residence in Calabar on Saturday. Former leader of Guinea’s military government, Moussa Dadis Camara, who escaped from the central prison in Conakry, the capital of Guinea, Saturday morning, has been recaptured, according to Guinean armed forces. Ibrahima Sory Bangoura, the chief of staff and General of the Armed Forces of the Guinean transitional government, who confirmed this in a statement, explained that Mr Camara is safe and sound and is now back in the central prison of Conakry.
