UNESCO advocates increased access to education, health services for girl-child

By Justina Auta The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) has advocated for improved access to education and health services for the wellbeing of the girl-child and vulnerable groups. Mr Phillipe Delanghe, Officer in Charge in the Abuja Regional Head of Office UNESCO, made the call on Friday during the 2023 International Day of the Girl-Child celebration. FAO: Over 26 Million Nigerians At Risk Of Food Insecurity In 2024 Over Inflation, Banditry

The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) says at least 26.5 million Nigerians in Borno, Sokoto and Zamfara States, including the FCT, may face a food crisis between June and August 2024. FAO country representative Dominique Kouacou disclosed this at the presentation of the October to November round of the Cadre Harmonise (CH) food security and early warning analysis on Friday in Abuja.
