On Thursday, hundreds of people gathered for a mass rally in Niger's capital city, Niamey, to show support for the recent coup. AFP journalists reported that some of the demonstrators were holding giant Russian flags. The rally took place at Independence Square, with the call for the demonstration being made by a coalition of civil society associations on the anniversary of Niger's independence from France in 1960. Barely 24 hours after embarking on nationwide protests against the removal of fuel subsidy, the Organised Labour has suspended its proposed strike action. The President of Trade Union Congress, Festus Osifo made this known during an interview with Arise News on Thursday morning. He said the Labour leaders who had earlier met with President Bola Tinubu extracted some commitments to some of the issues raised during the meeting for immediate implementation. He explained the suspension of the strike was based on this.

The organized labour has asked the government to tell the people when the refinery will begin to work in full capacity. This was stated by the immediate past president of the Nigerian Labour Congress president, Comrade Ayuba Waba during the organized labour protest in Abuja on Wednesday. He said " the elites must tell us when our Refinery will begin to work" Ayuba added that the only way to get the country out of the issue of subsidy is when our refineries begin to function. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together towards accelerating the digitization reform process in the government. An unidentified chopper has crashed into a building in the Ikeja area of Lagos. It was gathered that the incident occurred at 3:30 pm adjacent to AP Filling Station, and United Bank For Africa, Oba Akran. The chopper burst into flames near Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), its destination. The Spokesman for the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), Tunji Oketunbi, confirmed the development to our correspondent on Tuesday afternoon.
