NLC Protest:Conduct your Protects in. A Peaceful Manner – IG of Police
The Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has expressed deep concern over the nationwide protests announced by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) on August 2.
The police boss urged the trade unions to conduct the planned demonstrations in a peaceful manner to prevent being hijacked by miscreants.
In a statement released by the police force's spokesperson, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, acknowledged the constitutional right to peaceful protests but urged the labour unions to ensure that the demonstrations remain peaceful and are not exploited by troublemakers.
