Egbetokun Orders Withdrawal Of Police Mobile Officers From VIPs

Olukayode Egbetokun, acting inspector-general of police (IGP), says personnel of the Police Mobile Force (PMF) will no longer carry out VIPs escort and guard duties. Egbetokun spoke on Monday at a conference with police tactical commanders in Abuja. He said the force will conduct an assessment of all the duties of the mobile police to ensure effective utilisation. He said a special committee has been created to evaluate the strategies and how it will be enforced, adding that the team would be headed by the deputy inspector-general of police. Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), have arrested 47 (forty-seven) suspected internet fraudsters. Skit maker Trinity Guy Remanded In Agodi prison

A Family Court sitting at Iyaganku, Ibadan, on Monday, ordered the remand of a skit maker, Maruf Abdullahi, popularly known as Trinity Guy in Agodi correctional facility over alleged sexual exploitation of a 10-year-old girl. The court also arraigned Isiaka Ahmed, 40, and his wife, Rofiat, 29, who are parents of the victim on two-count charge of conspiracy and sexual abuse and exploitation alongside the skit maker. Security guards jailed 24 months each for sleeping on duty

An Area Court in Jos on Monday sentenced two security guards to 24 months imprisonment for sleeping on duty and paving way for the theft of two vehicle engines worth N900,000, . The Judge, Mr Thomas Ajitise, sentenced Abubakar Adam and Gambo Bukas after they pleaded guilty to the offence of negligence of duty and begged the court for leniency. Ajitse gave the convicts an option of N100,000 fine each or 24 months imprisonment and asked them to pay N 90, 000, each as compensation to the complainant.
