Organisers of the famous Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup football competition have set August 22nd to 9th September 2025 as the period of registration for clubs willing to participate in this year's competition. The annual competition, which will hold it's 9th edition, has continued to attract more participating clubs from Gombe South Senatorial zone and has also become one of the most popular grassroots sports competition the State. The Enugu State Police Command has continued to record significant successes in its sustained onslaught against violent crimes and cult-related activities in the State. This is evident in the recent arrest of six male armed robbery and cult-related activities suspects, and the recovery of firearms, drugs, and other incriminating exhibits in separate operations. Operatives of the FCT Police Command attached to the Scorpion Squad, between 19th and 21st August 2025, acting on credible digital intelligence, trailed and arrested two notorious car-snatching suspects. The suspects, Solomon Fanen Manger ‘m’, 34, and Solomon Yande ‘m’, 45, both from Benue State, confessed to being long time members of a syndicate specialized in the theft of high-value vehicles, particularly Toyota Prado SUVs and Toyota Hilux trucks.
