The timely legislative intervention by Rt. Hon. Muhammed Audu Lauya on the tragic attacks in Binnari and Gomben Dela communities of Karim Lamido LGA, Taraba State, is highly commendable.
The motion, moved by Rep. Mohammed Audu during today’s sitting of the House of Representatives, has drawn urgent national attention to the security and humanitarian crisis bedeviling the affected communities.
By urging the Federal Government to bolster intelligence-sharing across Taraba, Plateau, and Bauchi states, calling on relevant agencies like NEMA and the North East Development Commission (NEDC) to provide prompt relief materials to victims, and advocating for the completion of the long-abandoned Wase-Karim Lamido road to ease emergency response and security operations, the Green Chamber has once again demonstrated profound responsiveness to the safety and welfare of Nigerian citizens.
We commend Honorable Lauya for his proactiveness and for giving a voice to the voiceless people of Karim Lamido at this critical time.
