The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH), Prof. Thairu Yunusa, on Wednesday inaugurated three committees aimed at enhancing service delivery, staff welfare, and operational efficiency within the hospital.
The committees inaugurated are the Strategic Planning Committee for Efficient and Effective Clinical Services, Research and Training, the Staff Welfare Committee, and the Water Supply Committee.
The Strategic Planning Committee, chaired by Prof. Mustapha Jamda Abubakar, is tasked with developing strategies to strengthen clinical services, research, and training activities in the hospital.
The Staff Welfare Committee, with Dr. Usman Galadima as Chairman, is expected to identify and recommend measures to improve staff welfare as a means of motivating personnel and enhancing service delivery.
Also inaugurated was the Water Supply Committee, headed by Engr. Okolo Yahaya.
The committee has been mandated to investigate the causes of water scarcity within the hospital and propose sustainable solutions to address the challenge.
Speaking during the inauguration, Prof. Yunusa charged members of the committees to diligently carry out their assignments and make recommendations in line with their terms of reference to support the hospital’s growth and development.
He expressed confidence in the ability of the committee members to deliver on their mandates and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of UATH.
Responding on behalf of the committees, the chairmen assured the CMD of their commitment to justify the confidence reposed in them and to work towards achieving the objectives for which the committees were established.
