Heavy trouble seems to be looming in Balanga/Billiri Federal constituency camp of the All Progressive Party (APC) following the declaration by Hon Ali Isa JC, a new entrant into the party to re-contest the House of Representatives seat.
Hon Ali Isa JC, who recently decamped to the APC from the PDP, is the current member occupying the seat and before now, the Minority Whip in the green chamber of the National Assembly.
Some loyal members are however seeing Ali’s entrance and moves to secure the Party’s ticket for the Federal Constituency seat as an insult and betrayal of their many years of loyalty to the APC.
Kirgit Amlai, an aspirant to the seat, expressed his grievances and that of other notable aspirants in a petition to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Chairman of the APC Nentawe Yilwatda, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and other key party stakeholders in Gombe State.
Other high profile aspirants include, Alfred John Atajiri, Rambi Ibrahim Ayala, Tony Jonah Nakale, Engr Ahmed Isa Billiri, and Hon. Musa Buba, a serving member in the State House of Assembly.
In the petition, Kirgit called on the leadership of the party at all levels to firmly reject any attempt by Ali JC to join the APC or secure its ticket, stressing, “Ali JC’s political history is one of consistent hostility toward the APC.
“Rewarding such behavior with a party ticket would set a dangerous precedent, signaling that obstructionism is a valid path to political advancement within our ranks”, it warned.
According to Kirgit, “His record is not merely that of an opposition figure; it is one of active, sustained, and divisive opposition that fundamentally contradicts the values our party represents”.
Kirgit also outlined a series of litigations instituted by Ali Isa JC against the former APC Rep Member of the constituency, Victor Mela Danzaria, while in the House, aimed at destabilising and frustrating not only the member from performing his duty, but the APC from providing good governance. This is aside many other allegations levelled against Ali Isa JC.
He therefore warned that, “The APC must not become a refuge for those who have spent years trying to dismantle the existing structure. And cannot allow our party (APC) to be hijacked by individuals who have shown zero commitment to our ideals and who have actively worked against our success.
“For the peace of our constituency, the unity of Gombe State, Billiri-Balanga Federal Constituency, and the credibility of our great party, the APC leadership must shut the door on Ali JC.
“We remain committed to using all legitimate party mechanisms to protect the integrity of the APC in Balanga/Billiri. We must choose loyalty and character over opportunism”, he warned.
