Fire has gutted some parts of the chamber of one of the justices of the supreme court. The cause of the fire outbreak had yet to be ascertained at the time of filing the report. The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged President Bola Tinubu to investigate allegations that over $15 billion in oil revenue and N200 billion budgeted to repair refineries are unaccounted for. The organisation asked the President to “set up a presidential panel of enquiry to promptly probe the grim allegations that over US$15 billion of oil revenues, and N200 billion budgeted to repair the refineries are missing and unaccounted for between 2020 and 2021, as documented by the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI).” SERAP urged him to “name and shame anyone suspected to be responsible for the missing and unaccounted for public funds and to ensure their effective prosecution as well as the full recovery of any proceeds of crime.” ...

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) says plans to introduce the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode in the administration of its examinations are at an advanced stage. The Head of National Office (HNO), Patrick Areghan, gave the hint in an interview with newsmen on Saturday in Lagos. Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu be of Lagos State has approved the appointment of Olabode Agoro as the 22nd Head of Civil Service. The outgoing HoS, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, said in a circular that the appointment would take effect from Sept. 30. Nigeria's President Bola Tinubu has filed a motion seeking to stop Chicago State University (CSU) from releasing his academic records to Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). It would be recalled that Atiku Abubakar had approached the US court seeking to compel the institution to grant his request on the grounds that the documents would strengthen his suit challenging Tinubu’s electoral victory. The Police have said the autopsy of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba popularly known as Mohbad, has been completed. The Police made this known on its X (Twitter) page on Thursday night. Recall that Lagos State Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, had earlier announced that Mohbad’s body was exhumed for autopsy. “The Police wish to inform the public that the autopsy procedure for Mr Mohbad has been successfully completed,” the Police wrote. “Furthermore, the information will be provided as soon as the results are available,” it added. A United States court in Eastern Illinois has ordered the Chicago State University to release the academic records of President Bola Tinubu to his rival presidential candidate in the 25 February election, Atiku Abubakar. Jeffrey Gilbert, a US magistrate judge, gave the ruling on Tuesday, ordering the university to produce “all relevant and non-privileged documents” to Atiku within two days. The Kano StateGovernorship Election Tribunal on Wednesday sacked Abba Kabiru Yusuf as Kano State governor and declared the APC candidate, governor. The panel led by Justice Oluyemi Akintan-Osadebay began proceedings remotely from the Miller Road venue of the tribunal. During the hearing, the court deemed Yusuf's election as Kano State governor invalid and declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Nasir Gawuna, as the rightful winner.
